Now, I am using Ubuntu linux in a "live session user" mode. The "live" technology means I can try linux without install anything onto my hard drive, instead, the linux only runs from a CD-ROM.
Although my laptop is a very new model, Ubuntu recognized almost all the hardwares easily after it started up from CD-ROM. The user experience is good as the UI is very similar to windows. I can handle it easily even without any learning. Browsing website with Mozilla Firefox do just like everything in vista, even better than the Firefox in Mac. At least, the menubar in Mac is always stick to the upper of the screen. Actually I am using the firefox in linux to write the blog.
The linux is totally free. I download it from a ftp and burn the ISO file to a bootable CD. All I need to is insert the CD into my CD-ROM and reboot my laptop. It works very well even in the "live" mode, of course, you can install it into your hard drive for further use and obtain a better experience.
