I have successfully installed Fedora 8 on my laptop Dell 8200 yesterday,It's really an exciting thing to me! Fedora 8 is pretty new to me, I compared Ubuntu 7.1 to Fedora 8 and i felt that Ubuntu is a little faster than Fedora 8 and less system resources cost. Anyway the art team of both the two Linux distributions is great! You will find Windows XP an ugly face if you have tried Fedora 8.
Of course, what's amazing in Linux is not X window's appearance. It's Linux's flexibility, stable performance and security.Now i am free of Viruses, I do not need to operate my laptop so carefully for being worried about infecting kinds of viruses. I think Windows will be extremely affected by virus about every aspect. Main stream Anti-virus software like Kaspersky and Norton cost too much system resources when you operating a Windows system. Can you still bear the low speed when Windows was started due to Anti-virus software was scanning to insure that there is no virus inside your RAM? Why should us allocate system resources to Anti-virus software? In Linux you are free of viruses!
I am keep walking on my Linux way now, I enjoy the famous phrase "Think differently".
