Pursuing its strategy of developing a large international network of local partners, Mandriva today announces the launch of Mandriva Lithuania as the sole Lithuanian partner for Mandriva SA, distributing and supporting Mandriva Linux operating systems.
This launch is an important step to promote open source systems and to introduce their benefits to the society and business in Lithuania.
"Enterprises as well as individuals will be able to get products and services directly from the supplier of the systems in Lithuania", says K.Adomaitis, manager of Mandriva Lithuania.
Enterprises willing to test the benefits of Mandriva Linux operating system will be able to do it when using "Corporate Desktop 2008" and "Corporate Server 4" products. Both of them embrace the latest technologies to administer IT infrastructure. In addition, throughout the coming year "Mandriva Lithuania" will introduce more server solutions to optimize IT network control, centralize back-ups and automate administration of software and hardware.

In order to support Mandriva's ongoing commitment to open source software and collaborative work.'Mandriva Lithuania' will seek to create open and active local community. In addition,the help of major IT distributors and resellers will enable everybody to buy Mandriva Linux products - through retail outlets or via OEM packaging.

Currently, Linux is the most popular operating system of server systems in Lithuania. Mandriva Lithuania's survey reveals that 41% of the biggest companies in Lithuania use at least one server using Linux operating system. With Mandriva Lithuania established, companies, which have chosen Mandriva Linux as their platform will be able to make use of timely and quality support in Lithuania.
