Software Protection Dongle
UniKey is a hardware dongle that plugs into your computer USB port to protect software from piracy. With it, you can use the same type of hardware for the protection of your single station licenses as well as your floating licenses within a network system.
UniKey dongle is available in 2 models: standalone (UniKey STD) and networked (UniKey Pro). The main difference between UniKey Pro and STD is that UniKey Pro can accept up to 65,535 remote clients; while UniKey STD can only work with 1 remote client.
Among the vendor's applications made possible by (and leveraging the) UniKey are:
- UniKey Video Protector, which protects video data such as Real Media (RM/RMVB), AVI, SWF and FLV files. As a video vendor, you can protect your video files with a click, while the end-user must have a UniKey dongle that you have issued to access your video files.
- UniKey special for e-learning, which includes a UniKey hardware key and utilities for the protection of E-learning software, including videos, Flash files, Authorware/Director, RealBasic, VC, VB, C#, VFP, and PowerBuilder applications, E-books, and more.
- UniKey Time, which is specially made for variations of the Max model, and contains a tamperproof real-time clock indicating time and date. Features include the ability to limit features of the application after a certain amount of time.
