Change Management for Security Policies
Building on (and requiring) the vendor's SecureTrack product, SecureChange Workflow adds automated workflow tracking and auditing features specifically for organizational security policy requests. The product is deployed on a Red Hat Enterprise or CentOS box (a pre-loaded appliance from the vendor, as well as a VMware virtual appliance are also available), with SecureTrack either installed locally on the same machine or on a remotely accessible station.
SecureChange Workflow provides tools for the multiple phases and roles involved in change requests for security policies; from the request phase (where customizable forms can be presented to requesting users), through design (the translation of the user's request to actual technical requirements), approval, implementation, automated verification, and audit phases. Multiple devices from Cisco, Check Point, Juniper, and Fortinet are supported by the platform, with the vendor noting that change implementations leverage "...standard vendor management tools." "Generic" workflows are also supported by the platform.
The vendor states that proposed changes are checked against organizational as well as best practice/regulatory directives. Other platform features include role-based separation of duties, and pre-defined (out-of-the-box) templates (customizable) for frequently requested changes.
