I installed the Ubuntu 8.04 for days(I install it again and again, more than ten times), so if you are not Ubuntu 8.04, do not follow belows suggession.
first, I am a crazy guy.
If your CPU is AMD, and is not x86, is x64. and you want to install Ubuntu 8.04, try to install Ubuntu 8.04 x86, not to follow others advice which you should install x64, it's better.
I am the guy who have the experience.
I install x64 Ubuntu8.04 (my CPU is x64 sempon 2800+), But the system is not very good, sometimes it crash, auto logout , cant play flash not very well and others problem. all of these make the CPU higher from the top command show, may be my CPU is lower.
the simple example is I am in x64 version, I create a test class in netbeans6.01, I can see the cursor, but I cant use the Enter key. I sometimes have to move the cursor to another application. I see lots of forum, and use google, cant find a good answer.
this weekly, I have crashed nearly, the x64 version crashed again. I give myself more times, I try to install the x86 version of Ubuntu8.04. may be the god love me, I feel fluent in netbeans6.1. and others are well now.
